What to study
Expansion in Manor Lords is a negotiation drawn on parchment. The Diplomacy screen tilts the whole region map toward the player like a chart unrolled on a table: six regions lettered across the terrain in a manuscript hand, Nusslohe, Immenreuth, Waldbrand, Selbitz, Goldhof, Hofstetten, their borders inked in white, yellow and red, the two western regions already washed in a rival's red. Every region is speckled with the icons of what it holds, pickaxes for resources, crowns for settlements, deer for the hunting forests, and the two lords face each other as portraits across the top of the screen. The selected region prices the ambition at the foot: SELBITZ can be claimed for 2,000, Claim with Influence, or by the greyed alternative, Claim with King's Favor. Territory here is not conquered first and justified later; it is costed, in two distinct currencies of power, before a single soldier marches. Frame at about 1:24 in the Launch Trailer video (Steam), pipeline candidate v0_0018 at 83.5s.

Screen inventory
- DIPLOMACY header with the two lords as portraits facing each other across the top of the screen, and GAME PAUSED beneath
- the whole region map as a tilted parchment chart: six regions lettered across the terrain in a manuscript hand, Nusslohe, Immenreuth, Waldbrand, Selbitz, Goldhof and Hofstetten
- region borders inked as coloured lines (white, yellow, red); the two western regions, Nusslohe and Immenreuth, washed in a rival red tint
- small circular icons speckled over every region marking what it holds: pickaxe resource sites, crowned settlements, and game/deer markers in the forests
- the selected region's claim bar at the foot: a shield icon and SELBITZ, over two priced options, '2,000 Claim with Influence' (active) and 'Claim with King's Favor' (greyed)
- CLOSE at the foot of the screen; the map floats in darkness, lit like a chart on a table

Fetched 2026-10-21. verified 2026-10-21: pipeline candidate v0_0018 (83.5s, Launch Trailer, Steam) inspected visually at full resolution (1920x1080 native); genuine in-game Diplomacy map confirmed settled and legible (all six region names, the claim bar with both claim options and the 2,000 Influence price all readable; a probe at 83.0s shows the raid shot immediately before the cut to the map, and the filmstrip frame at ~84s shows the same map a moment later with its 'PRESS CLAIM TOWARDS THIS REGION?' confirmation animating, the 83.5s frame is the settled state before that prompt); no trailer typography overlays the frame beyond the game's own EARLY ACCESS (0.6.97) version mark
