What to study
Most strategy games draw the tech tree as a flowchart; Manor Lords paints its as a manuscript page. The Development screen is one great wheel in four hand-painted sectors, plough teams at the top, a market scene (cat included) at the right, the forge below, and bees, deer and boar keeping the forestry quarter at the left, every figure in the flat, gilded style of medieval marginalia. The tree is rooted, literally, in a place: at the hub sits the windmill badge of the region being developed, here NUSSLOHE, and each branch grows outward from it. What has been earned shows as small coloured medallions, apples, wool, berries, honey, joined by black branching lines; everything still to come is a grey padlock waiting on the rim. The whole economy of the screen is a single number at the wheel's foot, 1 DEVELOPMENT POINTS, and the header shares the space with the two systems the points feed: POLICIES and PRODUCTION tabs beside DEVELOPMENT. Frame at about 0:44 in the Launch Trailer video (Steam), manually extracted at 43.5s during the trailer's slow push-in on the wheel (the pipeline candidate at 43.1s catches the same screen from further out, its node icons illegible).

Screen inventory
- header: the region name NUSSLOHE with left/right arrows and a quill icon, over three tabs, DEVELOPMENT (active), POLICIES and PRODUCTION
- one great circular development tree filling the frame, divided into four hand-painted sectors in medieval-manuscript style: ploughing and harvest at the top, a market scene (with a cat under the table) at the right, a forge and craft scene at the bottom, and beekeeping, forestry, a deer and a boar at the left
- the centre of the wheel is a pentagon badge with a windmill and the name NUSSLOHE, every branch grows out of the settlement it improves
- unlocked nodes drawn as small coloured medallions (apple, wool, berries, honey pot, barrel, cloth and tool icons) joined to the centre by black branching lines
- locked nodes drawn as grey padlocks spaced around each sector's rim
- the wheel's only currency stated once, at its foot: '1' over DEVELOPMENT POINTS
- CLOSE at the foot of the screen; the painted wheel is slightly cropped by the frame's top and bottom edges because the trailer camera is pushing in

Fetched 2026-10-21. verified 2026-10-21: frame manually extracted at 43.5s from the pipeline-downloaded Launch Trailer (Steam) and inspected visually at full resolution (1920x1080 native); genuine in-game Development screen confirmed settled and legible (all three tab labels, the centre badge and name, the coloured node medallions, padlocks and the DEVELOPMENT POINTS counter all readable; the pipeline candidate at 43.1s shows the same wheel from further out and a probe at 44.5s shows the push-in continuing into the ORCHARDY tooltip, bracketing 43.5s inside a stable window on the same screen); no trailer typography overlays the frame beyond the game's own EARLY ACCESS (0.6.97) version mark
