How it works
Pick an item and a quantity. If your pick needs planks, and planks need wood, the shopping list shows the wood. We keep going until everything left on the list is something you gather, mine, chop, or loot, and the steps table shows every craft in between, in the order you would make them.
The Where column names who runs the recipe. Crafters are the survivors you rescue and house at your base. Most recipes unlock at a crafter or at a station like the Forge or the Laboratory, so the column doubles as a checklist of what to build first.
Some recipes make several items per batch. We round up to whole batches and mark the spares, so the numbers match what the game will really use. A few items can be made more than one way: when that happens, the result gets a recipe switcher, and you can pick the route that fits the stations you have.

What does the Material Calculator do?

Does it include the materials for sub-recipes?
