Altar size upgrades
Upgrading an altar grows the base area it protects, from 40×40×40 up to 160×160×160. Each altar is upgraded on its own, and the Flame level gates how far you can go.
Good to know before you gather
Survivors are the crafters and helpers you rescue out in the world and house at your base. Higher Flame levels need more of them living with you, on top of the materials. The count on each level card is the total your world needs, not a per-level extra.
Boss heads cannot be crafted. The Fell heads on the list drop from the boss each one is named after. Treat them as hunts, not shopping, and plan the fight before the gathering run.
Everything else that can be crafted is broken down for you: the combined list at the bottom of your climb shows the raw materials after every recipe is unwrapped, so one gathering trip covers the whole climb.
