What to study
The working combat HUD, and its centre of gravity is at the bottom of the screen. A thin cyan line runs across the lower centre with red bracket pips spaced along it, all converging on a red cat-head marker, the cat is 808, Chai's companion, reduced to a timing reticle: when a pip reaches the marker, that is the beat, and the green 'PERFECT!' judgement with its two green arcs is floating above the bar at the exact moment a hit lands on it. Around that metronome the rest of the HUD is pure comic book: a huge orange C grade badge in a jagged circular frame at top right, '8 HITS!' stacked under it, the score as a plain white number, 1,752, and the move that earned the last bonus named at the edge of the screen, 'Grandslam +150'. Even the player's bar at top left is caught mid-flash in orange-red, so at this instant every element on screen is either counting time or grading how well you kept it. Frame at about 3:05 in the Hi-Fi RUSH | Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer (Steam), manually extracted at 184.5s: the scene-change pass caught this warehouse fight only at its edges (182.2s and 188.3s), and the settled frame with the PERFECT judgement still legible sits between them. No trailer burn-in appears in this frame.
