What to study
When a fight starts, one red element is allowed into the green HUD: the focused enemy's nameplate. 'RAIDER SURVIVALIST' sits at top centre in red capitals with a skull icon marking a dangerous foe and a thin red health bar beneath it that is already partly drained, the enemy's state gets the screen's only warm colour and its most prominent slot, while the player's own state stays in the corners in green: HP bar bottom left, compass facing 'W' along the bottom centre, ammunition 009 over 133 bottom right. The frame also shows the game's damage feedback at work: the red splatter around the edges is the in-game hit indicator, part of the HUD rather than trailer dressing, and it is the second red channel, the world telling the player they are hurt without a single numeral. Frame at about 2:00 in the Fallout 4 Launch Trailer (Steam), pipeline candidate candidates/v1_0062.png at 119.8s, copied unchanged (MD5 matches the candidate).
