What to study
Hi-Fi RUSH teaches rhythm by printing it. Early in the Deep Dive the game stops on a concert stage and lays two musical staves across the top half of the screen: the upper staff is the pattern, drawn in orange, bar markers and big ringed beat circles with three smaller notes after the bar line; the lower staff is the player's line, the same beats restated as blue X button chips with the playhead standing on the first one. Nothing scrolls and nothing flashes: the rhythm is a picture you read left to right, spacing doing the work that a metronome would do in audio, so a player who cannot yet hear the beat can see exactly where the hits live and how far apart they are. It is the whole game's design thesis in one screen, combat timing externalised as notation, and it explains why everything else in the HUD is built from bars, ticks and chips rather than numbers. Frame at about 0:25 in the Hi-Fi RUSH | Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer (Steam), manually extracted at 25.0s: the notation segment (about 21-28s) produced no scene-change candidate at all, because the staves persist while only individual notes light up, below the extraction threshold, so the pipeline jumped from the arena fight before it to the fight at 28.2s. No trailer burn-in appears in this frame; the red music-credit burst that plays over the preceding fight (about 16-20s) is absent here.

Screen inventory
- the top white staff: a black centre line with orange bar markers, three large orange-ringed beat circles in the first bar, then a bar line and three smaller black-ringed notes, the pattern complete at this instant
- the lower white staff: the same rhythm answered in blue X button chips on the first four beats (the first X ringed by the black playhead bar), a bar line, then three small black-ringed notes still to come
- Chai seen from behind at centre stage, red scarf and scrap-metal guitar, facing a tall white oval robot with yellow eyes standing directly in front of him
- the concert stage around them: wooden boards, speaker cabinets with orange cones at both sides, a silhouetted crowd, spotlights and festival banners
