What to study
The dredging verb, and the horror system, sharing one night screen. Hauling from a SHAPES IN THE DEEP spot uses the fishing panel's layout with its own instrument: where fishing (dredge-0) shows a fish silhouette inside an arc gauge, dredging shows what is actually down there, here the white silhouette of an ornate key, the plot MacGuffin itself, inside a complete maroon ring, and beneath the panel waits an empty 18-cell grid, salvage storage that fills as the winch works, so the player watches two inventories at once, the hold at right and the haul coming up at left. The boat between them is nearly swallowed by dark; only its spotlight cone gives the water back, and what the light finds is skulls and wreckage, the game's flat cartoon geometry turned menacing purely by how little of it is lit. Above everything, the frame catches DREDGE's signature UI idea at full expression: the panic eye that hangs under the clock dial (Sunday, Day 14, 20:52) is open, a wide orange-red eye with a slit pupil and splayed rays, the sanity meter drawn as an organ that wakes up as the night gets to the fisherman. In the daytime and in conversation (dredge-3) the same spot holds a closed green eye or a plain diamond, so dread is communicated by a single persistent icon changing state, with no number, bar or label anywhere. The cargo panel keeps its daytime layout and stats (45 kn, 1,800 lm of lights, the stat that pushes back the dark), unchanged except for context. Frame at about 0:35 in the DREDGE: Complete Edition Trailer (Steam), pipeline candidate candidates/v0_0018.png at 35.1s, copied unchanged (MD5 matches the candidate). No publisher burn-in, logo or caption appears in the frame; every element described is game UI.

Screen inventory
- at left, the SHAPES IN THE DEEP dredging panel: a full maroon ring gauge around a white silhouette of an ornate key, 'Stock: Low', a brown DREDGE chip and a 'Pull [F]' button, with an empty 18-cell results grid in a panel directly beneath it
- the boat at centre in darkness, its spotlight cone picking out skulls and wreckage shapes in the black water ahead of it
- under the top-centre clock dial ('Sunday, Day 14 / 20:52'), the panic eye hangs open: a wide orange-red eye with a vertical slit pupil and coloured rays, fully awake against the night
- the CARGO panel at right as in the fishing screen: Boat Speed 45 kn, Fishing Speed 125%, Lights 1,800 lm, COASTAL/SHALLOW/DREDGE chips, Damage squares, and the hull slot-grid holding a lamp crate, fish, rods, a package and engines
- a thin depth gauge at the far left edge, a TAB boat chip at the cargo panel's edge, and a 'Leave [X]' prompt at bottom right
