What to study

Checkout is where Dungeon Inn's double-dealing is audited, and it is staged as theatre first, spreadsheet second. Each lodge gets an identical card: a lobby diorama on top, where the keeper stands behind the desk and the day's guests file out past the fireplace, you watch the cobra in the wizard hat leave before you are shown what he paid. Only below the stage does the card turn into numbers, and it uses the game's one ledger language: beds for occupancy (5/6 against a full 6/6), portrait chips for who stayed (one greyed slot confessing Seaside's empty bed), and a three-figure footer, crowns earned (+65 / +148), skulls for incidents (− / −1), antlers for reputation (+32 / +38). Because the two cards share a layout to the pixel, the comparison the whole game is about, which guild had the better day under your roof, takes one glance. Frame at 0:28.5 in the TGS trailer (Steam), a manual extraction found via the dense filmstrip and the 26.5–29.5s fine scan (the scene-change pass caught this screen at 27.76s, mid-slide-in and dimmed).

  • the day closes as two lodge cards side by side under a plain title, 'Day-3 checkout': blue 'Seaside Guild Lodge' (fish icon) at left, green 'Mountain Guild Lodge' (peak icon) at right, the same blue/green split the whole game uses
  • each card's top half is a little stage: the lodge's lobby with its keeper behind the desk, the human innkeeper for Seaside, the black cat for Mountain, and the day's guests filing past the fireplace (a lizard, a cobra in a wizard hat, a frog-hooded guest, a cloaked dog; a pickaxe dwarf, a floating mushroom, a rock golem)
  • under the stage, a divider row ends in the occupancy count as a bed icon: 5/6 for Seaside, 6/6 for Mountain; below it the guest portrait chips, five filled and one greyed empty slot at Seaside, six at Mountain with the mushroom's chip ringed in blue
  • each card's footer is a three-figure ledger in the game's standard icon language: crown +65, skull − (a clean day, no incidents), antlers +32 for Seaside; crown +148, skull −1, antlers +38 for Mountain
  • the frame around the cards keeps the day's context: a weather strip top-right (five day icons, today's sun lit yellow), running totals +10 and +8 along the bottom edge, and a 'Next' advance at lower right; a mouse cursor rests on the Mountain card

Source details

Fetched 2026-10-24. verified 2026-10-24: frame is a manual extraction (manual-checkout-28_5.png @ 28.5s) from the verified-clean curl-shim download of the TGS trailer (Steam), inspected visually at full resolution; both lodge cards, the 5/6 and 6/6 bed counts, all eleven guest chips and both footers (+65 / − / +32 and +148 / −1 / +38) legible; a fresh extraction at 28.5s from the canonical mp4 byte-hash-matches this file exactly (MD5 identical). A mouse cursor rests on the Mountain card, ordinary gameplay capture, left as-is; no trailer caption, watermark or logo overlays the frame
