What to study

The Charting the Unknown DLC bolts a business sim onto an action RPG, and this is its whole argument in one screen: people are at once combat stat sheets (Pierce's Health, Attack, Defense, speed gauges) and employees with daily wages, and the same roster serves both readings. The tabs name the loop plainly, Goods for Sale, Cook, Employee, while the right-hand list prices every pair of hands before you commit, Joan's 100 / 200 per day standing out against a column of 1s and 2s. Showing the assignment panel over the actual dockside shop, dimmed but present, keeps the abstraction honest: this is that building, those workers. It is the only true interface frame in any of the game's three Steam trailers; the rest is cinema, and the Gallery keeps it at that. Frame at about 0:51 in the DLC Reveal Trailer video (Steam), a pipeline scene-change survivor (candidates/v0_0006.png at 51.2s), letterboxed as the trailer presents it.

  • left: the selected worker's stat sheet, Pierce: Health 1680/1680, Attack 40, Defense 137, then Critical Rate, Attack Speed and Movement Speed as pip gauges at Lv 0, and his skill icons as a row of tool glyphs
  • centre tabs, switched on L2/R2: Goods for Sale / Cook (active) / Employee, the three decisions of the business system given one tab each; beneath, the assigned cook Ryan with 0 Work Day(s) served and his wage, and an empty slot below him
  • right: the hire roster as a scrolling portrait list, Andrew, Pierce (highlighted), Terry, Morrow, Ashton, Fred, Balder, Joan, Niall, Lars, each row carrying skill icons and a daily cost pair (most at 1 / 2 per day; Joan, the outlier, at 100 / 200), so staffing reads as an economy before it reads as a roster
