What to study

Weapons are bought from a police officer, and the shop screen commits to the joke completely: the catalogue is a black evidence folder stamped WEAPON, the station's name runs down the left edge in vertical type and Japanese blocks, and diagonal KEEP OUT tape crosses the whole frame, including over Officer Kurosawa's portrait. The transaction itself is a model of preview-before-commit: the list prices each bow (Short Bow 3,000 yen, RainBow 2,400 with a NEW tag), the stat block shows exactly what the selected bow does (Attack 48, Accuracy 098, with an up-arrow marking the gain), the INFO line names who it is for, and the money card does the arithmetic in advance (8,000 yen held, -3,000 in yellow) before the game asks 'Is this what you want?' over Buy / Quit buttons set into a red slash panel.
