What to study

The moment the menu system reaches into the world: gaining the ANXIOUS status does not pop a generic toast but deals a small dossier card, anatomical plate, effect name, and one offered action, OPEN DOSSIER, sending the player to the screen where that effect is filed. Underneath, the exploration HUD stays minimal: the three faculty pressures (FTG, ANX, DEL) as segmented bars in their Dossier colours, gathered around a halftone profile of the agent's head. It is the Disco Elysium HUD philosophy carried over and tightened, almost nothing on screen, and everything that does appear is an artefact of the fiction rather than chrome over it. Frame at about 1:02 in the ZERO PARADES - Features and Gameplay Trailer video (Steam), a pipeline scene-change survivor (candidates/v0_0016.png at 62.0s).

  • centre-left: a notification card in the dossier's own visual language, a flayed-torso plate beside 'Status Effect Gained / ANXIOUS' and a single action, OPEN DOSSIER, the HUD event routes straight back into the menu system where the effect lives
  • bottom-left: the persistent pressure readout, FTG 12, ANX 16, DEL 7 as segmented colour bars (magenta, amber, violet), the same three faculties as the Dossier, anchored over a halftone head-profile widget ringed with system icons
  • the world stays visible underneath: a night pier, the agent rendered in the game's x-ray anatomical style, the interface never fully leaves the fiction, even mid-exploration
