What to study
The Disco Elysium dialogue column, rebuilt for a spy: same right-hand typed log with named speakers, same numbered options, but the check is declared like a piece of tradecraft. PERSONALISM [12] shows its difficulty openly, its intrusive line is printed in red ('What is this man going on about?'), and an EXERT tag prices the attempt before the player chooses it; nothing about the roll is hidden. The vendor himself never gets a cutscene, a painted portrait card is dealt over the isometric scene instead. Quietly, the HUD keeps its own story running underneath the conversation: the faculty bars sit nearly empty at bottom-left and a clock reads 10:17 on Day 2, so even talk is happening inside the pressure system. Frame at about 1:34 in the ZERO PARADES - Features and Gameplay Trailer video (Steam), a pipeline scene-change survivor (candidates/v0_0025.png at 93.7s).

Screen inventory
- right column: the conversation as a running typed log, speaker names in caps (YOU, RARE MEDIA VENDOR) with indented quoted lines, the log scrollable above the current choices
- a painted portrait card of the vendor floats over the scene at centre, headphones, round yellow glasses, steepled fingers, the speaker made present without a cutscene
- choices numbered 1–4 at the column's foot; option 2 is a skill check shown in full: PERSONALISM [12], the inner line in red ('What is this man going on about?') and an EXERT tag, difficulty, skill voice and cost all declared before the player commits
- the HUD persists through conversation: FTG / ANX / DEL bars bottom-left (running low here, 2, 2, 10), and bottom-right a clock reading 10:17, DAY 2, with a small currency figure, time passes inside dialogue and the interface says so
