What to study

The Bestiary is Terraria's answer to the wiki tab every player kept open, moved inside the game and made more honest than most wikis. Entries are numbered tiles that unlock as you encounter creatures, sortable by ID, filterable, and searchable by name from the header row. The detail card's discipline is numeric: a Blood Zombie is 75 life, 20 damage, 8 defence, 40% knockback resistance, worth 1 silver 50 copper, and its three drops are printed at 0.67%, 0.50% and 0.50%, the game publishes its own odds to two decimals rather than hiding behind 'rare'. Even the portrait teaches: the zombie is shown under the blood moon that spawns it, habitat included. The screen never pretends you left the game, your 400/400 life and mana stars stay pinned top-right and the world stands behind the panel. Frame at ~0:49 in the Terraria: Journey's End Trailer (Steam; manual extraction, the Bestiary segment pans across entries inside one held shot). The trailer's own '60 (0) (100%)' encode overlay sits at bottom-left of the source frame and is disclosed in the elements list.

Screen inventory

  • the header row is a working index, not a title: sort control set to 'Bestiary ID', a 'Filters (1)' button admitting one filter is active, and a 'Name:' search field, the page indicator reads '1-11 (11)', eleven entries under the current filter
  • entry tiles 125-138 line the left: each is one creature sprite with its Bestiary number, 125 Blood Zombie through 137 and the 138 tile showing a boss portrait, a collection that fills in as you meet things
  • the Blood Zombie detail card shows the creature in its habitat, a red zombie under a blood moon, not a floating sprite on a void
  • its numbers are exact and icon-led: heart 75 life, sword 20 damage, shield 8 defence, burst icon 40% knockback resistance; below, its money drops drawn as coins, 1 silver, 50 copper
  • the drop table prices rarity honestly: three item rows at 0.67%, 0.50% and 0.50%, drop chances printed to two decimal places instead of 'rare' or 'very rare'
  • the player's own state stays on screen throughout, 'Life: 400/400', twenty hearts, a full mana-star column top-right, and a beach house with two NPCs stands at the frame's right edge
