What to study
Terraria's character creator refuses the slider farm. Where most creators give you forty facial sliders, this one gives you a row of ten whole sprites and asks you to point at the person you want, hairstyle, outfit and silhouette decided as one visible object, with the character standing live above the panel so the pick is never abstract. Text is nearly banished: ten category icons (hair, eye, skin, shirt, pants, shoes) carry the whole surface. The one true slider on screen is a joke played straight, voice pitch, gold-handled, with a tooltip that names it 'Change voice pitch', because in a game where your character grunts when hurt, pitch is a real identity choice. Even the dead space works: the bottom tip line ('There's a certain rare shampoo that will make your hair sparkle, down to the scalp!') teaches a real game fact while you dress. Frame at ~0:08 in the Terraria: Bigger & Boulder Trailer (Steam; manual extraction, the creation screen is a held menu shot the scene-change pass segmented elsewhere). The frame carries the trailer build's 'v1.4.5.0 rc3' stamp at bottom-left, disclosed in the elements list.

Screen inventory
- the character being made stands live above the panel under the Terraria logo, the preview is a full sprite in the world sky, not a portrait in a box
- a tab row of ten category icons heads the panel (list, character, randomize arrows, hair, eye, skin tone, underwear, shirt, pants, shoes), the whole customisation surface is one icon strip, no text menus
- the open tab shows ten full-body style variants of the same character in a row, the sixth highlighted, variants are whole sprites you compare at a glance rather than sliders you nudge blind
- below, a voice control: left/right arrows around a music-note icon numbered 2, and a gold 'Change voice pitch' slider with the cursor on its handle and the tooltip naming the control
- a small utility row (colour swatches, copy, paste and a dice/randomize button) sits beside the slider; Back and Create are the only two exits
- the screen teaches by trivia: a rotating tip line at the bottom reads 'There's a certain rare shampoo that will make your hair sparkle, down to the scalp!'
