What to study
Hypnospace Outlaw's whole fiction is an operating system, and the File Manager is where that stops being a joke and becomes a system: downloads land as evidence with names, dates and a FILE SOURCE field, each row deletable with one click. The design choice to study is restraint, a plain three-column table in pink-on-plum, no thumbnails, no previews, because in 1999 a file manager was a ledger, and the game trusts the ledger to carry the detective work. The permanent status strip (date, time, hypnocash) and the seven-icon dock frame it as a workplace, not a backdrop. Frame at about 0:26 in the New Launch Trailer (Steam).

Screen inventory
- the HYPNOS FILE MANAGER window is a three-column table, TYPE / NAME / DATE, with type icons and pink pixel text on dark plum: Boppas_…, FallingMeat, FlyingMeat, SpaceMeat, arianhalloween, gooper-screen, capacash, every row dated 1999.11.05 between 9:05P and 9:21P and carrying its own red X delete button
- the window's footer is a single field, 'FILE SOURCE:', provenance is part of the file list itself, because an Enforcer's downloads are evidence
- above the window, the HypnOS status strip reads 1999.11.05, 9:22P and a hypnocash balance of H132; the OS clock and wallet never leave the top of the screen
- the desktop under it is a repeating beige-and-mauve geometric wallpaper with no icons on it at all, everything lives in windows or in the bottom dock
- the dock is seven chunky pictograms, treasure chest, question mark, gear, file-manager, shield, the Hypnospace planet, sticky note, with a trash bin at the far right
