What to study

Workers & Resources teaches its core verb in a single frame: drawing infrastructure is priced and measured as you draw it. The green preview is not decoration, it carries the cost (2,481₽), the length (171 m) and the bearing (88°) of the segment before a single workday is spent, while the top bar keeps the republic's health (population, employment, health, happiness) in view so a road is never just a road, it is a claim on a planned economy. Around the gesture, the interface states its structure: a two-row build bar organised by purpose (transport, cargo, networks, citizens, industry) and a permanent minimap, because in this game building is never a modal detour from the map, it happens on it. Frame at about 0:30 in the Gameplay Trailer (Steam; scene-change survivor v0_0013).

Screen inventory

  • the top bar is the republic at a glance: UNLIMITED funds in both currencies, the date 3. January 1960, the SOVIET REPUBLIC masthead, pause and speed controls at 6m/s, population 16,504, and three citizen gauges, 97% (employment), 85% (health, red cross) and 73% (happiness, smiley), so the whole simulation's headline numbers are always on screen
  • the interaction itself is one green gesture: a new road segment drawn as a thick green preview curving off an existing dirt road, with a pinned readout giving its price (2,481₽), total length (171 m) and azimuth (88°), plus a dashed angle guide at the join, the player is placing geometry, and the game prices and measures the gesture before it is committed
  • the bottom build bar is the game's taxonomy made visible: two rows of icon buttons under category tabs, General Transportation, Cargo & Storage, Networks, For Citizens, Industry, with the upper row currently on Roads, Depots, Maintenance, For citizens, For cargo and Refuelling, so switching from a road to a depot is a tab click, not a menu dive
  • a live minimap sits bottom right, gridded with terrain, water and the road network, with a resource-icon rail along its edge, the map is a permanent instrument, not a screen you open
