What to study
A character-select screen that publishes the weaknesses. The Cragheart's profile is laid out like a hiring dossier, portrait grid of the six starting classes at the left with locked potential below, a stat ledger in the centre (Health 10, a hand of 14 Ability Cards, 2 Bound Items), a named individual ('Boulderfist') waiting inside the class, and a full-body render at the right, and then, at the bottom, it talks the player out of the pick as honestly as into it: 'Not the strongest merc in any area', abilities that need obstacles in specific places, 'Hard to read facial expressions' played straight as a listed weakness. In a game where a mercenary is a long campaign commitment with a personal quest and a retirement, the selection screen behaves like informed consent: difficulty, role, strengths and flaws are all stated before the Select button, in the game's own voice. Frame at about 3:17 in the Gloomhaven - Gameplay Trailer (Steam; manual extraction, the mercenary screens flash past inside a late montage the scene-change pass could not settle).

Screen inventory
- left, the party column (Level 1, Gold: 0) stacks Mindthief, Scoundrel and the selected Cragheart (XP 0/45); beside it the Mercenaries panel heads 'Select a Mercenary' over a portrait grid, six unlocked classes, each badged with its class icon, above rows of empty slots for classes not yet unlocked
- centre, the profile is a stat ledger with right-aligned values: Level 1; Health: 10; Ability Cards: 14; Bound Items: 2; Perks: 0; Enhancements: 0, and a greyed name line, 'Boulderfist', waiting to be edited
- under the stats, Difficulty: Medium and Role: Damage/Support, then the lore paragraph in plain terms, Craghearts are Savvas exiled for being incapable of mastering an element, with play advice embedded in it: 'Prioritise using Earth Mana to get the most out of their abilities'
- the bottom of the profile argues both sides of the hire: Strengths, 'High Health plus reasonable healing', 'Decent Melee & Ranged options', 'Lots of damage abilities to avoid Shield and Disadvantage', against Weaknesses, 'Not the strongest merc in any area', 'Many abilities require Obstacles in specific locations', 'Hard to read facial expressions'
- right, the Cragheart fills half the frame as a full-body rock-skinned Savvas render under its green class shield; a faint 'World Map' title from the previous screen is still dissolving at the top centre, the one transition artefact in an otherwise settled frame
