What to study
The Forsaken Altar is where the game's perk draft shows its teeth. Three Stormforged cornerstones are offered as cards, Survivor Bonding (+25% villager speed, 3 Global Resolve), No Quality Control (+2 wood production, but after each storm all stored wood is removed and replaced with 150 Insects), Firekeeper's Prayer (glade events worked 30% faster, sacrifices burning 30% longer), each a genuine bargain with a stated downside, and each priced the same way: 48 flame and 2 villagers. The left column is the wallet, and it is laid out like a form: first the resources, three stock icons (1011 / 808 / 808, the first ticked) totalled as 1011 flame; then, under a tick-box headed PAY WITH BLOOD, the species portraits with their headcounts (1, 5, 1), tick two of them and the total at the foot becomes the 2 villagers every card demands. The interface never euphemises the transaction: the cost line, the tick-boxes and the PICK buttons are one continuous ledger, so the player chooses not only which blessing to buy but which of their people pays for it. Frame at about 1:06 in the 1.0 Release Date Trailer video (Steam), manually extracted at 65.5s: the scene-change pass emitted no frame inside the altar segment (its nearest candidates are the trader panel at 56.7s and the hex map at 82.6s).

Screen inventory
- FORSAKEN ALTAR header beside a painted portrait, over a band of red flame, the altar's offers are drawn as three framed perk icons (an open hand, a sprouting branch, a green wing) in knotwork frames
- three Stormforged cornerstone cards, each with its full rules text: SURVIVOR BONDING ('The people in your settlement have survived many hardships, bringing them closer together (+25% villager speed, 3 Global Resolve)'), NO QUALITY CONTROL ('Gain +2 to wood production. After each storm, all stored wood is removed, and you get 150 Insects in return'), FIREKEEPER'S PRAYER ('Glade event work speed increased by 30%. Resources you sacrifice in the Ancient Hearth burn for 30% longer')
- every card prices itself identically at its foot: 48 flame + 2 villagers, over a red PICK button, the currency of this screen is people
- the payment column at left: three resource icons counted 1011 / 808 / 808 with the first ticked, totalling '1011' flame beneath
- below it, PAY WITH BLOOD ticked on: three species portraits with their counts (1, 5, 1), the first and third ticked, totalling 2 villagers, the two villagers the cards cost are chosen here, by species

Fetched 2026-10-21. verified 2026-10-21: frame manually extracted at 65.5s from the pipeline-downloaded 1.0 Release Date Trailer (Steam) and inspected visually at full resolution (1920x1080 native); genuine in-game Forsaken Altar screen confirmed settled and legible (all three cornerstone names and full rules texts, the 48 flame + 2 villager price on each card, the resource totals and the Pay with Blood species counts all readable; a probe at 64.0s shows the same screen with only one villager ticked (total 1), the trailer is mid-decision, and 65.5s is the settled state with two ticked and all three PICK buttons active; the cursor rests on the Firekeeper's Prayer PICK); the red flame band is the screen's own styling; no trailer typography overlays the frame
