What to study
This card is the game's thesis in one panel: nothing in Workers & Resources costs only money. A university costs workdays and tonnages, gravel, steel, boards, concrete, asphalt, bricks, and then it keeps costing, in power, water, garbage and workers, for a stated 20-year lifespan. The interface refuses to abstract any of it away: the bill of materials sits above the operating figures, so placing a building means accepting a supply chain. That the card is reached through For Citizens > Universities, grouped by the human need it serves rather than by its footprint, is the design lesson, the catalogue is organised around what citizens lack, and every entry answers with the full price of fixing it. Frame at about 1:02 in the Gameplay Trailer (Steam; scene-change survivor v0_0026).

- the card is a bill of materials before it is a building: 'Medical university, Resources needed to build' lists 7,388 Workdays, 163t of Gravel, 217t of Steel, 59t of Boards, 541t of Concrete, 130t of Asphalt and 179t of Bricks, each with its resource icon, construction here is a logistics order, not a price tag
- below the materials the card states the building's operating contract: maximum workers 50 / 50, maximum students 300, building lifespan 20 years, garbage production per worker 0.40 kg, garbage per student 0.48 kg, max power consumption 6.6 MWh per day, circuit breaker 110 KW, heat water tank 21 m³, max daily water consumption 2.00 m³/day, and 3 stations for vehicle loading/unloading, every number the supply chain must later honour
- the bottom bar shows where the card comes from: the For Citizens tab is active and the Universities group is open (Emergency, Children, Universities, Crime & Justice, Maintenance), with the Medical university icon highlighted and named, the card is one entry in a civic catalogue, browsed by citizen need rather than by building shape
- the top bar dates the republic to 29. May 1979 with 8,025 citizens and gauges at 3% unemployment, 91% health and 67% happiness, so the university is being placed into a living economy whose shortages it will have to serve
