What to study

Build mode without leaving the world: the planning grid is a translucent cloth thrown over the running castle, boundary in gold, selection in white, while soldiers idle outside the wall and the economy keeps ticking in the scribe's book (TOTAL +9). Comparing the two HUD frames shows the system's range - same chrome, one at peace in the yard, one mid-construction - and the rank bar quietly tells the campaign story: Duke now, 592 honour banked. Frame at about 0:54 in the Story Trailer (Steam), a scene-change survivor (v1_0011 at 54.0s) inspected at full resolution in this run.

Screen inventory

  • a white build grid is draped over the entire scene - walls, towers, chapel and fields - with gold lines marking the estate boundary and a white selection outline around the gatehouse being placed; teal tiles glow at two wall feet
  • top bar: Rank 10 Duke, honour 592, the same parchment tabs, resources 765 / 179 / 101,449 gold; Day 6 / 5:15 floats over the garden statue
  • bottom furniture matches the yard frame: minimap (one red holding), seven-icon dock, and the scribe's book at right - popularity 100 rising, 34/56, 16, TOTAL +9 in green
  • two shield-men wait outside the wall on the grass - the grid is a planning layer over a living simulation, not a separate build mode screen
