What to study

Wargroove's battle intro is a staged versus screen, not a damage popup: the turn counter and both commanders' names sit on a shared banner, each side gets a portrait plus a segmented groove meter, and the two armies pose on their own terrain before combat resolves. The book frame and dimmed map behind it keep the fiction that battles happen inside the campaign's storybook. Frame at about 0:08 in the Gameplay Trailer - Release (Steam).
