What to study
Terra Nil's catalog is a book you hold, not a menu you open. The BUILDINGS chapter spends a whole page on its title, lettered like a plate in a naturalist's atlas, construction lines and all, and gives its index page over to painted machines with no names, prices or stats anywhere: recognition is the interface, because by the time you browse the handbook you have already met these buildings on the map. Navigation is physical, too: the chapters are coloured tabs sticking out of the page block, close included, so the whole reference system reads as one crafted object laid over the world it describes. Frame at about 0:21 in A Beginner's Guide to Ecosystem Restoration (Steam; manual extraction, the spread settles between the trailer's page-flip, just before it turns to the Turbine / Toxin Scrubber entries).

Screen inventory
- the handbook opens as a physical book, burgundy cover, graph-paper pages, and fills almost the whole screen over the living map: the right page carries nothing but the chapter title BUILDINGS, centred between two drafting-pen flourishes, with faint construction circles still visible around the lettering
- the left page is the index, and it has no words at all: the restoration buildings painted at specimen size, a satellite weather station, a green biodome, a red furnace unit, a fan-topped scrubber drum, a water tower with its pump, a wind turbine, a cooling tower, a red fan plant and a small floating purifier among them, arranged loosely like objects laid out on the page, plus a small seed-pod doodle in the corner
- coloured chapter tabs stick out of the page edges on both sides: climate and trees on the left; buildings (highlighted tan), animals (paw print), the handbook itself, and a red X close tab on the right, the book's table of contents is its binding
- nothing on either page is a button in the usual sense: no frames, no hover states, no text labels under the pictures, you browse this catalog the way you would flip a field guide
