What to study
SMT V's battle HUD is a study in putting the whole economy of a turn in one corner. The four Press Turn orbs are the turn itself: hit a weakness and you earn an extra half-action, and the orbs are the only place that arithmetic lives. The moon-phase strip at top left is the game's other clock, ticking 1/8 to 8/8 across battles, and the red Magatsuhi calligraphy underneath is a third resource that only fills when the party takes or deals damage. Everything else, the HP bars, the skill banner, the enemies, is arranged around that corner, and the wide battle framing lets the pillars of the skill land in the middle of the screen instead of behind a menu. Frame at about 1:57 in the Launch Trailer (Steam). Disclosure: the frame is caught mid-skill-animation, so the battlefield is partly obscured by the light pillars of Divine Arrowfall; no trailer caption or logo is in frame.

Screen inventory
- the Press Turn system owns the top right: four blue four-pointed-star orbs, a '4 Action / Player Turn' counter, and below it the Magatsuhi gauge in red Japanese calligraphy reading MAX
- the moon-phase bar runs along the top left, a small disc reading '1/8' at the new moon
- the Nahobino stands at right mid-skill, light pillars falling across the battlefield while two enemy angels take the hit, one of them showing a small green HP bar
- the skill banner at bottom centre names the attack in a pill with its element icon: 'Divine Arrowfall'
