What to study

Sea of Stars has no potion shelf: healing is Garl's cooking, so the battle inventory reads like a menu, six dishes a page, quantities right-aligned, the cursor a serving hand. It is the camp layer surfacing inside combat, and the design work is in the restraint: one column, no icons to decode, no rarity colours, just food and counts. The list also quietly teaches the game's loop, what you gathered and cooked at the fire last night is exactly what keeps the party alive in the mech hangar today. Frame at 1:20.4 in the Dawn of Equinox trailer (manual extraction from between the command-menu and item-throw frames the scene pass did catch).
