What to study
Roadwarden's shop is a counter, not a spreadsheet. Four goods, each described in one sentence a traveller would actually care about (meals that won't spoil, a fur that is valuable rather than wearable, a crossbow sold with its quarrels counted), each priced in a single coin value with no sell column, no rarity color, no compare tooltip. The economy's argument is in the ratios: food is cheap, transport and protection are dear, and the fur exists to be sold on, which is the whole merchant loop in one panel. That the merchant's line, 'He places them on the counter', stays visible above the modal is the game's signature move: the system never fully covers the fiction. Frame at about 0:05 in the Release Trailer (Steam; manual extraction).

Screen inventory
- a modal panel covers the centre of the screen over a dimmed shop interior, with the line 'He places them on the counter' still visible above it, the fiction (a merchant laying out goods) is the panel's header, not a separate dialogue box
- four goods in a three-plus-one grid, each an icon, a name, a one-line plain description and a Buy price in the same coin glyph: Food Rations ('Three filling meals that won't spoil anytime soon', Buy: 1), An Elk Fur ('A high-class fur. A valuable commodity', Buy: 16), A Crossbow ('A decent crossbow with 5 quarrels', Buy: 28), Quarrels ('A set of 5 arrows for a crossbow', Buy: 2)
- the prices do the balancing in public: rations are nearly free, the fur is a commodity rather than gear, and the crossbow costs more than ten times the ammunition it uses, the economy is readable without a single stat table
- at the panel's left edge, a narrow inventory strip shows the player's own goods with counts (a purse marked 1, provisions marked 4) and a curved back arrow, so buying is always read against what you already carry
