What to study
Customers never order potions by name. This brewer describes a beer that must stay warm in the northern provinces and asks for 'something like liquid fire', and the player has to translate the story into an effect, the goals list at right even names the intended answer, Create Potion of Fire, as a standing objective. The dialogue UI supports that reading-comprehension loop with very little chrome: one speech bubble, a response column whose Sell and Haggle entries stay greyed until a potion physically sits on the scale, and a clarifying question ('What else do you add to your beer?') for players who want more evidence before committing a brew. The scale between the customers is both furniture and interface, the offer slot the whole transaction turns on. Frame at about 0:08 in the Early Access Release Trailer (Steam; scene-change survivor v1_0002).

Screen inventory
- the customer's request is a parchment speech bubble with a story in it: a brewer wants 'something like liquid fire' so his beer stays warm in the northern provinces, the required potion effect is stated as a riddle in the customer's own words, never as a named item
- the instruction line under the request, '(To offer a potion, place it on the scale)', and the response column below it: '(Sell)' and '(Haggle)' greyed out until a potion is placed, with the live options 'What else do you add to your beer?' and '(End dialogue)' lit green
- the balance scale stands empty at centre bottom between the two customers and the counter, the scale pan is the offer slot, so presenting a potion is a physical act in the scene, not a menu selection
- the right rail keeps the shop's state in view during the conversation: day 4, 200 gold, popularity 10/15, an ingredient panel with stack counts (17, 5, 9, 19), a finished potion being dragged by the hand cursor, and goals that include 'Create Potion of Fire', the answer this customer is waiting for
