What to study
The Last Divinity's pact shrine sells upgrades the way a temple would: three stone pedestals, each holding one glowing object, each plaque stating the effect and the shard price in the same breath. What makes the screen worth studying is the centre pedestal. Truestone and Extremestone are ordinary spell upgrades, but Engage Pact is a transaction with two currencies, 25 shards and one of your units, whose essence will be infused into another. The layout gives that stranger, dearer choice the altar's place, under the shrine's sigil, so the screen's geometry itself ranks the offers before a word is read. It is a shop with no shopkeeper, no grid and no buy button: walk up, read the plaques, touch a stone. Frame at about 0:36 in the Monster Train The Last Divinity trailer (Steam).

Screen inventory
- three offers stand on stone pedestals as physical objects under a glowing three-clan sigil: Truestone ('Upgrade a spell with +10 Magic Power and Piercing.', +10 shards), Extremestone ('Upgrade a spell with +30 Magic Power.', +15), and the centre altar between them
- the centre offer is not an item but a verb: 'Engage Pact, Sacrifice a unit to infuse its essence into another unit.', priced at +25 shards, the shrine's most expensive choice is the one that costs a unit as well
- the currency is tracked in the persistent top bar: Pyre 60 (20 beneath), gold 200, ember 23, and a 10-over-100 shard counter at top-left, the same shards the pedestals charge
- there is no Buy button anywhere: the pedestal is the button, and a single purple Leave at bottom-right is the only other chrome on the screen
