What to study

Where the placement mode draws what a Battlework will be, the charge order draws what an army will do: a blue lane on the ground, wide as the charge itself, running from Stratus through the burning trench line to the enemy cavalry column, path, width and victim in a single shape, no arrow-and-hope. The cursor completes the sentence: by the time it reaches the target it has turned into a crossed-sword icon, tied to the Giant by a hair-thin line, so the order's author and its destination stay connected across the whole frame. Dropping the placement grid for this view is the telling choice, deployment is surveyed like engineering, but an attack order is drawn straight onto the real ground it will cross, trenches and all. Frame at 1:17.0 in the Gameplay Trailer (manual extraction; the scene-change pass never fired inside this sequence). Disclosed: the trailer's burned-in caption 'CAVALRY CHARGES' sits at lower left.

Grid Nameplate Badge

Screen inventory

  • a translucent blue rectangle, the charge lane, projected on the ground from Stratus's position at centre through a burning trench line to the white enemy cavalry column at right; its rounded far end is the target, its width is the charge's width
  • at the lane's far right, the cursor has become a crossed-sword icon with a small gear-like badge, tied back to the Giant by a hair-thin blue targeting line that crosses the whole frame
  • the grid is gone: targeting happens in the plain battle view, so the lane is read against real terrain, the fire-lit trenches it must cross, the red soldier files above and below
  • three Giant nameplates price the moment: Goliath (82k, cyan, 300/300) at left over the glowing Soldier mass, Stratus (82k, yellow, 300/300) above the lane's origin, and a third plate (82k, 270/270) cropped at the top edge
  • the white cavalry at the lane's end is already breaking, the charge is shown the instant before contact, with its path still drawn

Source details

Fetched 2026-10-24. verified 2026-10-24: frame is a manual extraction (manual-charge-77_0.png @ 77.0s) from the verified-clean curl-shim download of the Gameplay Trailer (Steam), inspected visually at full resolution; the blue charge lane, the sword cursor with its targeting line, and the Goliath (82k / 300/300), Stratus (82k / 300/300) and cropped third (82k / 270/270) nameplates all legible; a fresh extraction at 77.0s byte-hash-matches this file exactly (MD5 identical). Disclosed: the trailer caption 'CAVALRY CHARGES' is burned into the lower left of the source frame
