What to study

The cavalry Battlework stretches the placement grammar furthest: the ghost is not a building but a formation, six white riders in single file inside a blue rectangle, because what you are deploying is a charge waiting to happen, and its footprint has to show the shape it will move in. This is also the mode at its most honest about context: two full Giant nameplates (Stratus and Goliath, both 82k and at full 300/300 armies), a third cropped at the frame's top edge, the enemy's red soldier files drawn up along the right, and a fight already burning inside one of the red zones, the placement decision is shown with every fact that should govern it on screen at once. The thin cyan arc under the rectangle is the system's one decoration: range or facing, expressed as a curve on the ground rather than a number in a panel. Frame at 1:13.0 in the Gameplay Trailer (manual extraction; the scene-change pass never fired inside the placement sequence). This is the only keeper the trailer left caption-free.

Grid Nameplate

Screen inventory

  • the widest placement view in the trailer: the grid and red no-build zones stretch across a whole lane front, two domed structures drowned in red zones at centre and bottom, a third Giant's plate cropped at the top edge (its Soldier count reads 210/210)
  • at right, the piece being placed: a saturated blue rectangle holding a single column of six identical white cavalry ghosts in file, the hammer cursor resting on the third, a Battlework whose footprint is a formation, not a building
  • a thin cyan arc sweeps from the rectangle's foot down and left, the piece's range or facing read as one curve on the ground
  • two full Giant nameplates inside the mode: Stratus (82k, yellow segmented bar, 300/300) at centre top and Goliath (82k, cyan segmented bar, 300/300) at left, both standing over their Soldier crowds and a burning red-zone fight
  • enemy Soldier lines in red-and-white file along the right edge and centre, the front this placement answers is visible in the same frame
