What to study
One instrument does most of the flying. The navball - a literal attitude ball with the ship's marker fixed at its centre - sits at the bottom middle of the screen at all times, ringed by the readouts that orbit it: surface speed (24.0m/s here), heading (262 deg), throttle arc and G meter. Around that anchor the HUD is all clusters with jobs: the altimeter tape top centre (008237 m, with its atmosphere depth bar), the staging stack down the left with per-stage LiquidFuel bars (the launch plan, draining in public), and the crew as three portrait plates bottom right - Seanvin, Jonpond and Hadlong as faces, not icons, so a staging accident has names attached. A rocket at 49 seconds into flight, already pitched over and burning sideways, is flown entirely off this furniture; there is no chase-cam flying by eye at 8 km. Frame at about 0:43 in the CommNet Trailer (Steam), a scene-change survivor (v1_0007).
