What to study

A verb in Cultist Simulator is a timer you have already paid for, and this frame is the paying made visible. The panel holds still for its sixty seconds: the prose ('The things from outside the world have many weapons: knives and riddles, fire and despair. I have weapons of my own.') does not change, the button has collapsed to 'Running...', and the only live elements are the countdown ring, 4.7s left, drawn as a draining arc, and the aspect ledger along the foot, which restates the whole working as totals: 26, 6, 12, 12, 2. Suspense here is not a cutscene; it is watching a number you assembled decide what arrives. The spent ingredient cards pinned at the panel's edge are the receipt, the game never lets a cost leave the screen before its consequence lands. Frame at about 0:32 in BRING THE DAWN (Steam; manual extraction from the held running panel).

Screen inventory

  • the running verb panel's only animation is a thin ring at top-right with a black lozenge reading '4.7s', the summoning's remaining time is a number and an arc, nothing else moves
  • the panel's foot is a full aspect ledger: icon-and-total pairs reading 26, 6, 12, 12 and 2 across a dozen principle icons (pentacle, Grail cup, hammer, knife, key, question mark, lantern and more), everything the working contains, summed
  • the button that said Start now reads 'Running...' and is greyed, a verb in progress refuses further input and says so in the button's own label
  • five small card icons sit spent along the panel's lower right (an eye, a red silhouette, the Frangiclave key, a Grail seal, a rite card), the consumed ingredients remain visible as a receipt while the timer runs
  • above the panel, the table's unspent resources wait untouched: Passion (2), Reason (3), 'Temptation: Enlightenment' and 'Scholar: Sanskrit'
