What to study
Battle Brothers settles its contracts in prose, not in a rewards table. The Return to Waidhof is the debrief of a finished job, and everything about the panel refuses to be a spreadsheet: a gold title and the captain's portrait medallion head a page of second-person narrative, the employer's welcome, the healer's firepoker, the goblet of wine, inside which the mechanical outcome (brigands removed, their leader Hoggart escaped) is carried as story, never as a loot list. The single button at the foot completes the fiction: it is not labelled 'Accept' or 'Continue' but speaks in the company's own voice, 'We expect to get paid for this.' The interface's only verb is a demand for wages, which is the whole game in one line: the war is over, and what remains is payroll. The panel never leaves the world map it happened on; the coast, the ruins and the region name lettered on the grass stay visible around its edges. Frame at 0:15.0 in the Launch Trailer (manual extraction; the scene-change pass caught none of this sequence, the panel sits static for seconds and reads as one long shot).

Screen inventory
- the title bar: 'THE RETURN TO WAIDHOF' in gold serif caps, with a circular portrait medallion of the company captain at its left end
- a painted inset illustration of thatched village houses at the upper left of the text column, with the body prose wrapping around it
- five paragraphs of second-person narrative on dark wood planks: the employer Gothart of Waidhof welcomes the bloodied company, a healer tends their wounds mid-conversation, and the outcome is reported inside the story, the brigands are removed, but 'the weasel' Hoggart eluded their blades
- quoted speech set as its own paragraph: 'We killed his men, but the weasel eluded our blades in the end.'
- one full-width response button along the panel's foot, 'We expect to get paid for this.', the only verb the screen offers, and it is a line of dialogue, not a label
- the panel floats over the live world map it concludes on: a lake coast at left, a ruined settlement at upper right, and the region name SPEEDWELL lettered across the grass below
