What to study

The Fate of the Vaal league turns dungeon design into a board game played before the run. The Temple Console is a rotated stone diamond: you spend the left-hand palette (Halls, Guardhouse, Dynamo, Prosthetic Research) onto green-lit tiles, gold paths stitch the placed rooms into one connected temple, red Xs strike the branches that lead nowhere, and tier numerals under each room icon price what you have built. The selected room introduces itself in a single bar, 'TABLET RESEARCH / TABLETS VAULT TIER 1', so the grid never needs a separate inspector panel. Nothing here is a menu over the game; the console IS the game for this league, and its one commit button, 'RUN TEMPLE', waits at the bottom the whole time you plan. Frame at 0:48.0 in the Fate of the Vaal League Trailer (manual extraction; the scene-change pass extracted zero frames from this trailer).

Screen inventory

  • header plaque 'TEMPLE CONSOLE' centred at the top of the screen, with a red X close button at its right end
  • a diamond (45-degree rotated) stone grid: dark empty tiles, gold path tiles linking the rooms already placed, and green glowing tiles marking where a new room can go
  • room palette sliding in from the left edge: HALLS, GUARDHOUSE, DYNAMO and PROSTHETIC RESEARCH (highlighted in gold), each row ending in a diamond room icon; a back-arrow tab sits above the list
  • an info bar across the top of the grid naming the selected room: 'TABLET RESEARCH' with the sub-line 'TABLETS VAULT TIER 1'
  • placed room icons carry tier numerals (II, III) beneath them, and red X marks cross out dead-end branches of the gold path network
  • a white cursor arrow rests on the grid; an ornate 'RUN TEMPLE' button is centred at the bottom, the whole plan commits in one verb
