What to study
The rulebook is the game's database drawn as a spiral notebook: two RULES pages list every current requirement as a one-line plain-language entry ('Entrant must have a passport', 'All documents must be current'), with empty slots below showing where tomorrow's rules will land as the list grows. Because the book sits on the same desk as the documents, checking a rule is a physical act of opening it rather than pausing out to a menu. Frame at about 1:19 in the Papers, Please Trailer (Steam).
