What to study

The Party screen is where Bannerlord's army stops being a number on the map and becomes a payroll: every troop type is a row with a face, a count and a wage, and the middle of the screen is given to one soldier at full height, horse included, so an upgrade is judged on what the man will look like in the line. The design move to study is the in-row upgrade slider, selecting the Banner Knights expands their own row into the control, keeping the rest of the roster, the prisoner count and the party's wounded visible while the player decides how many promotions the treasury can carry. Even the headers do quiet work: '57/58 (55 + 2w)' teaches the whole wounded system in one parenthesis. Frame at about 0:48 in the Official Release Trailer (Steam; manual extraction, fine-probe frame relA_11 from the 42.5–52.5s window at 2 fps; the same screen appears seconds later with the Vlandian Knight selected, relA_13/14).

Screen inventory

  • a three-part layout that never changes: a Dismiss panel on the left (Troops 0, Prisoners 0), the selected soldier standing full-height in the centre, and the party roster on the right, management is always a conversation between a list and a person
  • the centre figure is the troop itself, not a portrait: a Vlandian Banner Knight in mail and a red surcoat with his barded horse behind him, his name, upgrade chevron and daily wage (17) written above his head
  • the roster rows carry thumbnail, name and count (Vlandian Knight 10, Vlandian Gallant 19+2w, Vlandian Squire 4, Vlandian Champion 1, Hired Elite Pike 3), and the selected row opens in place into an upgrade slider with plus/minus steppers set to 17, promoting a troop type is a quantity decision made on the row, not a separate screen
  • the army's condition is stated in the headers, not a tooltip: Troops 57/58 (55 + 2w) and Prisoners 13/37 (12 + 1w), the w marking the wounded who still take up space; Urentur's own row shows a 68% health bar, and the prisoners begin with Thorgud of the Brotherhood at 1%
