What to study
Bannerlord's siege is a state of the campaign map, not a separate mode, and this screen is the proof: the player is mid-decision on the same map they marched across, with the siege expressed as arithmetic (457 against 378, 17 days of food against 10), as construction (engine plots and a camp that takes time to build), and as politics (a relation with a named lord drops while the siege camp goes up, reported on the parchment ticker). The three options in the side panel are the whole verb set, assault it yourself, send the troops, or walk away, and the event log under the panel's painting keeps the world simulating while the choice is made: prisoners taken, skills gained. It is a strategy layer written as a place, not a menu. Frame at about 0:45 in the Official Release Trailer (Steam; manual extraction, no scene-change survivor covers this beat, the trailer reaches it by a map flyover; fine-probe frame relA_06 from the 42.5–52.5s window at 2 fps).

- the siege gets the whole top bar: 'Siege' centred over crossed swords, 457 against 378, on the left Urentur's Party with its portrait, lion banner and 17 days of food, on the right the defence split into Militia of Ab Comer Castle (262) and Garrison of Ab Comer Castle (116) with 10 days of food and the castle's 50000 treasury icon
- the decision lives in a left-hand panel laid over a painted siege scene: one sentence of situation ('You are besieging Ab Comer Castle. You are commanding the besiegers.') and three plain options, Lead an assault, Send troops, Leave, with the campaign's event log typeset under the painting (a prisoner taken in green, two skill gains in white)
- on the map the siege is literal construction: the castle model carries green wall-strength bars, four blue outline plots mark where siege engines will stand, a 'Building Siege Camp' progress bar fills under Urentur's 457-strong flag, and Derthert's Army waits at the right edge under its own banner
- nothing about the campaign pauses for the siege: a parchment ticker under the top bar reports 'Your relation is decreased by 5 to -5 with fen Caernacht', and the bottom chrome keeps the date (Autumn 3, 1084), the pause/play/fast-forward controls and the full resource strip (438k denars, 70% health, 457 troops, 380 food, 79 influence)
