What to study

Forging in Monster Hunter: World is a two-step promise: pick the weapon card, a compact spec sheet whose sharpest idea is the Sharpness gauge, a weapon's whole edge quality drawn as one segmented colour bar, and then answer a single modal question that prices the craft in plain words, 'Requires materials and 600z. Proceed?'. The design discipline is that the modal summarises but never replaces: the itemised recipe (Iron Ore 1/1) and the 600 z cost stay on the right rail behind the dialog, so the player confirms with the evidence still on screen rather than from memory. It is the same dark-panel, teal-type, filigree-corner language as the Armory screens, one guild paperwork system for buying and making alike. The trailer's caption banner is burned in along the bottom-left of the frame and is disclosed here. Frame at about 0:09 in the Defender Weapons showcase trailer (Steam; manual extraction from the curl-shim re-fetch, the pipeline's own copy of this clip was overwritten before extraction, and the dense filmstrip scan found the forge beat).

Screen inventory

  • the Forge Weapons list is a stack of weapon cards, one per craftable weapon: the selected Defender Katana I card is lit teal and reads like a spec sheet, name, a long-sword icon, Attack 429, Blast 180 with its element icon, and a Sharpness bar drawn as a segmented red-yellow-green gauge; the Iron Katana I (Attack 264) and a Bone weapon sit dimmed in rows below
  • the craft is confirmed by a centred modal in an ornate white-cornered frame, 'Requires materials and 600z. Proceed?', with two buttons, Yes filled bright green as the cursor choice and No in dark blue; the modal states the total price in one prose sentence before any itemised list appears
  • the recipe stays visible behind the modal: the right rail still shows the Defender Katana I title and render, 'Required Materials' with Iron Ore at 1 / 1, and a Required Cost footer of 600 z, the numbers the modal summarises are never hidden behind the confirmation itself
  • at left the hunter stands in the smithy wearing the full Defender set, forge fire behind him
