What to study

A character creator that itemises the face like a settings menu: nose, mouth and jaw are separate rows, and freckles and wrinkles get a type selector each - ageing and skin detail as first-class options, not afterthoughts. The grey feature thumbnails at each row's end are the honest touch: you preview the part, not a preset name. The whole screen keeps the world visible behind glass-mint panels, so customisation never leaves the town. Frame at about 0:21 in the Release Window Gameplay Trailer (Steam), a scene-change survivor (v0_0004 at 21.2s) inspected at full resolution in this run.

Screen inventory

  • header bar: APPEARANCE with a back arrow and two hexagon mode icons (outfits, face) centred; the town square and its airship stay live behind the translucent chrome
  • left, four mint category tabs with pictograms: Face (selected), Body, Hair, Makeup; a dice-button Random Character anchors the bottom-left
  • right, the FACE card with a brown leather title tab: a Features group (Nose Shape, Mouth Shape, Jaw Shape - each row ending in a small grey 3D preview thumbnail of exactly that feature), then Freckles with Freckles Type, and Wrinkles with Wrinkles Type
  • the character stands centre frame in a paint-splashed jacket, braids and freckles already applied - the panel's current settings are visible on her face
