What to study

The motorway lesson in one frame: against Manila's orthogonal white streets, the single pink diagonal, badged '1', junction-free, river-crossing, is instantly legible as a different class of road, and the roundabout below it shows the opposite tool, a junction drawn as a plain ring that cars visibly circulate. Demand stays in the same two glyphs as the rest of the game (coloured buildings, pin stacks of two and four), so a new city with a new palette and a river for ground needs no re-teaching. Frame at about 0:23 in the Release Trailer (Steam), a pipeline scene-change extraction inspected at full resolution (1920x1080) in this prep; like all of the trailer's map segments it uses the shipped game's visual system under a moving camera and carries no HUD chrome, disclosed in the elements.

Screen inventory

  • one pink motorway on a long diagonal from bottom centre-left to top right, badge '1' in a shield at its middle, it crosses the river and every street without a junction, the visual definition of the motorway tool
  • the river (labelled ILOG PASIG across its surface) runs horizontally in two turquoise bands; streets hug and cross it, the motorway does not
  • a large roundabout right of centre, a white ring around a grey-blue disc with a hollow black-ring centre, with yellow and blue cars circulating and queuing on its approaches
  • destinations: two red squares with two pins each (top left, centre) and a yellow square with four pins (right edge); houses as small red, yellow and blue blocks on cul-de-sacs at the top right and bottom left
  • the ground itself is the water colour: this city's blocks are islands of road drawn over solid turquoise, so unbuilt space reads as river, not empty land
