What to study
Story in Into the Breach is delivered the way everything else in the game is: as one clear panel with one decision. Arriving at an island opens a briefing window, a full-width illustration of the location (here the Pinnacle Robotics head office, its CEO present only as a teal hologram held in a robotic cradle), a chapter-style title banner naming the place, a small square portrait of the speaker, and a single dialogue bar with the whole pitch in two sentences: 'The humans employed at Pinnacle are just as important as the sentient machines. We must stop the Vek to save all life.' There are no dialogue choices and no tree; the only control is the wide CONTINUE tab at bottom-right, and the campaign's persistent top bar stays visible above the frame so the fiction never fully detaches from the run's state. The restraint is the design: each island's leader gets exactly this much stage, states the local stakes in the vocabulary of their corporation, a sentient-machines company arguing its machines are people, and hands the player back to the map. Frame at about 0:36 in the Into The Breach - Announcement Trailer video (Steam), manually extracted at 35.5s: the pipeline's scene-change bundle contains no frame from the trailer's map-and-briefing passage (its survivors jump from 33.2s to 39.1s), so this segment was found by the 1-frame/2s filmstrip audit and probed at 0.5s steps.

Screen inventory
- a single framed illustration fills most of the screen: the Pinnacle Robotics head office rendered as a white robotic assembly cradle holding a glowing teal hologram of the CEO between two light columns, black cables snaking across the floor
- across the top of the frame, the location is titled like a chapter heading: 'Pinnacle Robotics Head Office' in the game's pixel typeface on a dark banner
- bottom-left, the speaker gets a small square portrait, the same teal hologram face, cropped tight, pinned to the left end of the dialogue box
- the dialogue box itself is one dark bar carrying two sentences in plain white text: 'The humans employed at Pinnacle are just as important as the sentient machines. We must stop the Vek to save all life.'
- bottom-right, the only control on the screen: a wide angled tab reading CONTINUE; above the illustration, the campaign top bar persists (star 0, core 0, POWER GRID five segments, GRID DEFENSE 15%, population 0) and the three mech sprites wait dimmed down the left edge

Fetched 2026-10-21. verified 2026-10-21: frame manually extracted at 35.5s from the pipeline-downloaded Into The Breach - Announcement Trailer (Steam) and inspected visually at full resolution (1920x1080 native); genuine in-game briefing screen confirmed settled and legible (the 'Pinnacle Robotics Head Office' banner fully resolved, the speaker portrait, both dialogue sentences and the CONTINUE tab all readable); probes bracket the segment: 34.5s shows the illustration window opening over the sector map with no text, 35.0s shows the title banner still mid-wipe with no dialogue box, 35.5s is the first fully settled state, and 36.0s has already cut to the Swap Mech screen, the settled window opens at 35.5s; no trailer typography overlays the frame
