What to study
A skill tree shrunk to three labelled columns, Kill Assist, Hologram, Utility, so a build reads as three short chains instead of a sprawling web; orange versus grey carries owned, available, and locked without a legend. The tooltip writes its effect in one sentence of plain language (a decoy that leaves ignitable oil) rather than stat math. Two trust decisions stand out: the character's full-body portrait and XP bar keep the screen about Vivian rather than about a grid, and Refund All Skills sits permanently on the bottom bar, making experimentation free and saying so up front. Frame at about 0:49 in the Gameplay Trailer video (Steam), a pipeline scene-change survivor (candidates/v0_0023.png at 48.5s).

Screen inventory
- three named columns organise one character's build, KILL ASSIST / HOLOGRAM / UTILITY, each a short vertical chain of square icon tiles linked by lines, read top to bottom
- state is pure colour: bought and available skills glow orange, locked or unreached tiles sit grey and desaturated, and the bottom row is padlocked behind three empty pips
- the open tooltip (COMBUSTIVE DECOY, Hologram, 1 SP COST) states the effect in one plain sentence about an ignitable oil surface, no percentages, no scaling math
- the character owns the left third: full-body comic portrait of Vivian, LV 4 with an XP figure (4,812.5 / 5,000), Skill Points: 1, and the three squad portraits along the bottom for switching without leaving the screen
- the economy of the screen is on its bottom edge: F PURCHASE SKILL / REFUND SKILL / X REFUND ALL SKILLS, respec is a first-class, always-visible action
