What to study

Every Day We Fight's signature move is dropping from turn-based tactics into a first-person 'reflex' shot, and the HUD is what keeps the two modes feeling like one game: the circular street map, the one-line objective, and Vivian's portrait card with its segmented health bar all persist from the tactics layer, while the right edge swaps in shooter grammar, contextual key prompts and an equipped-weapon readout with both guns' ammo. Even targeting is translated rather than replaced: the gas canister gets a thin selection ring and a flame pictogram, the same icon language the top-down view uses. Frame at about 0:34 in the Gameplay Trailer video (Steam), a pipeline scene-change survivor (candidates/v0_0013.png at 34.0s).

Screen inventory

  • top-left: a circular street-map minimap titled ACCESS THE THORN STASH, with lettered squad pips (V, D, L) and objective diamonds plotted on the street grid, the tactics layer's map shrunk into the shooter view
  • under the minimap, the same objective repeated as a one-line quest tracker: 'Access the Thorn Stash' with a green diamond bullet
  • bottom-left: the active fighter as a comic-style portrait card (Vivian, LV 3) with a segmented green health bar, character identity survives the camera change
  • right edge: contextual key prompts stacked as needed (SHOOT / HOLD BREATH SHIFT L / CANCEL, then SWAP X / RELOAD R) and an EQUIPPED weapon readout, RATTLER 5/5 over a second weapon at 20/20
  • centre: the target itself, a red gas canister ringed by a thin white selection circle with a flame icon, so the interactive object is named by outline and pictogram, not text
