What to study

The game's signature readout is scale under pressure: a horde of tens of thousands of units fills the frame, and the HUD answers with the numbers that decide whether the settlement survives it. Population sits over cap (70/60) while food runs at 144/500, so growth (17 per day) and the wave clock (01:45, wave 2 of 2) are read together, not separately. The circular minimap does double duty as the wave timer, and the build palette stays open at the bottom, so defence construction is part of the battle screen rather than a separate mode. Frame at about 0:25 in the Gameplay trailer 10.2024 (Steam). Disclosure: a small in-game 0.9.28 dev build watermark is visible in the bottom-left corner; no trailer captions appear on the frame.
