What to study

The day-end screen is Blue Prince's memory: because the house is dismantled every night, this blueprint is the only form in which a run survives, and the game presents it as an archived architect's record, the finished grid on the right, the vital statistics on the left, and a handwritten estate title (Cozy Cottage, for this modest 18-room, rank-7 house) that grades the day with gentle irony. The pager at the top makes the archive literal: every past day keeps its blueprint, so progress in a game about a house that resets is measured in a growing folder of plans. It reuses the drafting tiles and blueprint paper of the play screens, closing the loop, the map you played on becomes the record you keep. Frame at about 1:45 in the Atmospheric Trailer (Steam; manual extraction).

Screen inventory

  • the left half is a report card on blueprint blue: a coloured illustration of the house as it now stands (observatory dome and all), 'MT. HOLLY' in serif capitals, and beneath it the estate's earned rank title handwritten in blue, 'COZY COTTAGE', the game's verdict on what your drafting amounted to
  • five stats in two columns of serif type with handwritten numerals: Total Rooms 18, Rank Reached 7, Steps Taken 16, Items Found 7, New Rooms 7, a whole roguelike run summarised as the figures an heir would actually brag about
  • the right half is the evidence: the complete Day 3 blueprint grid with all 18 drafted tiles in colour from the ANTECHAMBER at the top to the ENTRANCE HALL at the bottom, each tile the same floorplan card used while drafting, door connectors showing the route the day actually took
  • a handwritten 'Day 3' header with « » pager arrows (the mouse hand hovers on the forward arrow) turns the screen into an archive: past houses can be flipped through day by day, each preserved as its blueprint
