What to study

When a drafted room is entered for the first time, Blue Prince presents it as a card, the same floorplan tile from the drafting band, enlarged, named, and glossed with the one thing the room does. The Workshop's gloss is the crafting system ('Combine inventory to create new items'), and the presentation sells it physically: wrench and gears burst out of the card's border, as if the room were being unpacked into the corridor. The trailer uses the pause to teach the rarity ladder in pink handwritten annotations (Commonplace, Standard, Unusual, Rare, counted in dots), those callouts are trailer burn-in, disclosed here; the card, the CONTINUE button and the persistent steps/keys/gems/coins HUD are the game's own. It is a tutorial, a reward screen and a codex entry compressed into one dismissible card. Frame at about 0:53 in the Release Trailer (Steam; manual extraction).

Screen inventory

  • the drafted room announces itself as its own floorplan card floated in the doorway: blue frame, top-down view of benches and tools, the name WORKSHOP in bold capitals and one functional line, 'Combine inventory to create new items' with a gear icon, plus a black CONTINUE button with a red arrow to dismiss it
  • the card cannot contain its subject: an oversized wrench and brass gears spill out of the frame's left edge over the corridor wall, a drafting-table joke that turns a UI popup into a physical object arriving in the house
  • the HUD stays up during the reveal: steps (21) top-left, and keys (1), gems (1) and coins (3) top-right, so the reward is always read against the resources left to spend it with
