What to study
Between dungeon runs, Backpack Hero's town asks for the same skill as its backpack: arrangement. The Magical Mycelium's research panel lays each unlock out as a row of requirement tiles, resource costs beside item-category tiles, and grades the result with one number, 100% EFFICIENCY, so a building, like a bag, can be packed well or badly. Reusing the bag's tile-and-cost language for the town is the design move worth studying: the player never learns a second interface, only a second board. Frame at about 0:44 in the 1.0 Launch trailer (Steam; manual extraction, the panel holds over the town between scene cuts). Disclosure: the trailer's wooden sign reading 'Unlock new items' overlaps the panel's lower-right corner, covering the right-hand ends of the third and fourth rows; the title, all four researched items, the cost and category tiles at left and centre, the efficiency line and the DONE button are fully legible.

- the panel is titled MAGICAL MYCELIUM and opens over the town itself: the mushroom house it belongs to is still visible behind the panel's top edge, and the village, paths, pond, a timber house, continues around it on every side
- each of the four rows pairs one thing being researched at the left (a question-mark tile, a quiver, a wand, a slim sword) with the tiles it demands: shield-icon costs of 50, 75 and 100, and category tiles reading MAGIC RARE, MANASTONE, MAGIC, MELEE RARE and WAND UNCOMMON, several carrying a green progress strip along their base
- research is drawn in the same tile language as the backpack: rectangular requirements in a grid, costs as icons with numbers, progress as a filled strip, the town system and the bag system are one visual grammar used twice
- the panel closes on a single summary line, '100% EFFICIENCY', over one DONE button, the whole cost of the building's layout is collapsed into one percentage the player can chase
