What to study
Royal Decrees replaces a tech tree's usual grid with a freeform constellation: nodes connect diagonally across the screen, each with a pictogram and a lock cost, and the four-state legend at top left teaches the whole system before any node is read. The web's looseness is the point: unlike a tech tree's strict rows, decrees read as a field of options the player wanders, with cost badges doing the gating work that rows would do elsewhere. Frame at about 3:05 in the Ramesses gameplay video (Steam). Framing note: the top resource bar is cropped by the video frame itself, not hidden by the UI.
