What to study
The mecha editor builds Icarus the way the factory game builds everything else: out of named parts, toggles and blocks. The left panel refuses abstraction, every body part is a labelled chip (L Forearm, R Knee, Welding Torch), the frames underneath them get their own second chip family, and custom work is filed as named parts (Back Pack 3, Back Pack 4) rather than anonymous meshes. The hologram in the middle makes the metaphor physical: the selected backpack is a stack of glowing blue blocks on a black column, placed voxel by voxel, while the right edge of the screen is given over entirely to the editor's own grammar, Add Block, Remove Block, Switch Orientation, Fill Operation, because in this game customising your robot is a construction job with the same controls as laying a belt line. Shape and material even get separate palette rows at the bottom, geometry above, spheres below. Frame at 1:34.1 in the 2022.6.22 EN trailer (Steam). The source frame carries the trailer's work-in-progress banner across the top and its music credit at bottom-right, disclosed here and in the elements list.

Screen inventory
- the left panel's 'Default Parts' section is a wall of toggle chips, orange for on and grey for off, naming every mecha part: Chest, Head, L Shoulder, R Shoulder, L Upper Arm, R Upper Arm, L Elbow, R Elbow, L Forearm, R Forearm, L Hand, R Hand, L Thigh, R Thigh, L Knee, R Knee, L Calf, R Calf, L Foot, R Foot, Core, Back Pack (the one dark, selected chip) and Welding Torch, with Disable All / Enable All / Fold controls at the section head
- below, a second chip family in grey names the skeletons underneath: Body Frame, L Upper Arm Frame, R Upper Arm Frame, L Hand Frame, L Forearm Frame, R Forearm Frame, R Hand Frame, L Thigh Frame, R Thigh Frame, L Foot Frame, L Calf Frame, R Calf Frame, R Foot Frame
- 'Custom Parts' holds Back Pack 3 and Back Pack 4 (selected); the edit row for 'Back Pack 4' carries a cursor icon, a block icon, curve/move/expand tool glyphs and a red X
- centre frame, the mecha is a translucent amber hologram on a dark grid floor, and the part being built is literal: a black block column with three glowing blue blocks stacked at its top, a yellow cursor arrow on the lowest block
- the right edge is a keybind card for the editor itself: '[L Mouse] Add Block', '[Alt] + [Mouse] Remove Block', '[Tab] / [R] Switch Orientation', '[T] Suggested Orientation', '[CTRL] Fill Operation', '[Repeat CTRL] Switch Fill Direction', '[ESC] / [Double R Mouse] Exit Mode'
- the bottom palette separates shape from material: a row of white block geometries (cube selected, wedge, pyramid and variants) over a row of material spheres, the blue sphere selected and a gold sphere beside it
