What to study

Vehicle customisation is a physical console you stand at in the Moonpool, not a detached menu: the form floats in a curved holographic slab with the submersible itself docked in the water behind it, worked on by robotic arms while you edit. The form is only three decisions deep, a name field (here holding 'GO'), a single colour gradient, and four part tabs down the side of the picker (BASE, NAME, STRIPE 1, STRIPE 2, the active one lit orange) that aim the same gradient at different paint zones, and it ends in one plain DONE button, so repainting a vehicle is a shorter interaction than most games' character creators. Frame at about 0:46 in the Early Access Gameplay Montage (Steam).
